Long-stemmed arrangements of lavender flanking an altar make a unique, memorable backdrop for marriage vows. We will work with you or your wedding planner on Orcas Island to create ceremonial arrangements or table decorations for dinners, showers or other occasions. Sorry, we don’t ship raw lavender. Price for the basic lavender on stalks from one bush: $15 (enough for one large arrangement).

As you may have decided from seeing another of our web pages, our wedding sachets, wands and wall pots make aromatic favors for weddings as well as for memorials, bridal showers, bat or bar mitzvahs, graduations, rehearsal dinners, birthday and anniversary parties, and baby showers.

Lavender is a traditional wedding herb because its fragrance characterizes the garden into which the bride invites her husband to taste the fruits of love. In the Biblical book of Solomon (4:14), lavender is called one of the choicest of plants. In Solomon, its name is “nard.” This is from the ancient Greeks, who called it “nardus” after the Syrian city, Nardia.
